ONE of your correspondents in the Echo was concerned that the No. 50 bus was usually full.
We, too, live on that route and use it several times a week and we, too, find it is sometimes difficult to get a seat. Indeed, on four or five occasions, the driver has refused to stop for us because the bus was full, even in the winter.
This is particularly the case on fine sunny days when holiday-makers, foreign students, walkers and pensioners want to take advantage of the costal route of the bus.
It is a green and efficient way of getting everyone to our coast.
We have pointed this out to the bus company, but there is no sign of a more frequent service being offered.
Even in winter, we are sure that half-hourly buses would be justified and a longer summer season would certainly benefit the many people, including regular customers, who want to use this popular route.
