their patience during Network Rail’s recent work on the High Street level crossing. The essential work has improved the reliability and safety of the crossing and it reopened to the public on time earlier this week.

The Poole to Wool resignalling project will continue throughout this year and Network Rail will return to carry out further work at Poole High Street level crossing later this year to complete the upgrade.

We will notify the local community as soon as we are able to so we can minimise any disruption as much as possible. Anyone with any questions about the work or the level crossing can contact Network Rail on 08457 114141.

ROD MOORCROFT, Programme Manager, Network Rail Bike night tributes for brother Midge ALTHOUGH my family and I are living in Australia, our thoughts are with the motorbike community of Poole as they start their annual bike shows on Poole Quay of a Tuesday night.

It is almost a year ago that my beloved brother David (Midge) Holloway sadly passed away unexpectedly and we had the opportunity to attend a few bike nights.

Midge was a well known local, he was a fisherman and bike enthusiast, winning the Bike of the Night award and going on to win Bike of the Year.

We were very impressed with the large turnout at these social evenings and would like to reiterate our thanks to Poole Tourism for their continued support of this event along with Coles Miller who very kindly provide the David (Midge) Holloway trophy that will once again will be presented to this year’s winner of Bike of the Year.
