MR Kipling’s letter (February 23) made it absolutely clear how disruptive night flights are to those of us living under the flight path.
It is Christchurch Borough Council that imposes limits on the number and type of aircraft which can operate at Bournemouth during the night time period and I would urge all those people who are regularly woken by noisy night-time air traffic to write to the council expressing their concern.
To be woken every single night – often several times – is very debilitating, to say the least, and can lead to serious health issues. A recent letter from an elderly gentleman living in Kinson expressed exactly the same concerns: The most undisrupted sleep we can expect at night now is about three hours.
It’s about time Bournemouth Airport did something about this problem, instead of paying lip service to it.
