THERE was a cafe in Boscombe, since closed, which I thought was excellent and this has given me an idea.
I am interested in a project to open a cafe in Boscombe with the following virtues. It would offer healthy food at reasonable prices. It would employ socially disadvantaged staff at above the minimum wage and as a consequence of their employment teach them life skills.
The profits would be reinvested in the business and as far as possible goods and services bought in the local community.
In order to achieve what might appear a utopian dream it would also need a group of willing volunteers with business and trade skills in order to firstly find ways of covering the rent and business rates and equip the cafe.
Were it to prove a success then other cafes could be established in the town.
If anyone can help please can they email me on motcomm@virgin media.com
