I WAS saddened to read yet another article about an ‘action group’ campaigning to prevent 35 homes being built in a Dorset village, Charlton Marshall.

Our family have lived in two homes in Wimborne and one on Canford Heath, two on what was at one time farmland and one on what was heathland.

If the 21st century ‘nimbys’ had been around in the ’70s and ’80s I do not think any of our homes would exist today.

It is so depressing that so many of our fellow citizens wish to deny today’s young families the right to decent homes to bring up future generations, in decent accommodation.

Please think of others not just yourselves.
