MANY thanks to one of the aircraft operators at Bournemouth International Airport for yet again ruining my sleep!

At 05.36 on Sunday morning, my slumber was shattered by the roar of a large jet aircraft taking off.

This was followed up by one of the regular turbo-prop aircraft at 06.05.

Regularly during the working week, two noisy turbo-prop aircraft take off at 05.30 and 06.00 respectively following long engine warm up and taxiing periods. During the night, commercial aircraft take off at around 23.00 and others land at around 01.30/02.00.

Are there not restrictions on night time commercial aircraft movements?

At the moment, residents in the Northbourne area have just three and half hours of possible undisturbed sleep!

It’s not good enough and before anyone says that I should not have bought a property so close to an airport, I can say that I have lived here for 62 years and the noise from aircraft during the night time hours is increasing.

I can see an e-mail to “Watchdog” coming up. Airport managers, your comments please.
