CONOR Burns MP is quite right when he says his party will regret holding police commissioner elections.
We are constantly bombarded with the country needing to adopt “austerity” measures. The cost of these elections is sheer extravagence and I believe the public are starting a “very British revolution” either by abstaining or not voting for someone who changes from wanting to be an MP to a police commissioner, and electing someone with a true passion for the police.
It is not too late for our MP to lead the fight to have this decision to be reversed – it is very fashionable for political parties to apologise for their mistakes.
