WITH regards to the many excellent letters regarding the council decision to demolish the Imax and the very sensible ideas of how to use the building for indoor use, I am reminded of when I was a hotelier in Boscombe in the late 1970s and into the 80s.

I was forever complaining to local and would-be councillors about the state of bedsit properties and the type of persons they were attracting but no one ever did anything about it, resulting in the mess we have now.

So to all your readers who have told the council of the folly and cost of demolishing the Imax, I can only say they did not listen to common sense 30 years ago so it seems they won’t listen now and will no doubt create another mess.
