EX-England internationals Darren Anderton and Ray Wilkins were on hand to present trophies to victorious Corfe Mullen Juniors teams following two R & T Tournaments.

The under-12 boys and under-nine girls – winners at the Weymouth Championships – received their awards from former Cherries and Tottenham star Anderton.

And the under-14 girls, who conceded just once on their way to be crowned champions at the Bournemouth Classic, were presented with their gongs by Wilkins.

Patience had been key for the under-14 girls with several late goals proving decisive as they won all eight matches over the two days, scoring 16 times in the process.

Sophie Harris netted seven goals to end the tournament as top goalscorer as Corfe Mullen beat teams from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Woking and Walsall.

The under-12 boys, who had entered the tournament in good form, topped a competitive group after winning all five matches, scoring 19 goals and conceding only two. And they added the silverware to their recent Dorset Cup triumph after seeing off Cornwall-based Ludgvan Lions in the final following a tense penalty shoot-out.

Playing their first competitive seven-a-side tournament, Corfe Mullen under-nines also emerged victorious following a nail-biting penalty shoot-out after their final had finished in stalemate. Competing against teams from Romford, Nuneaton, Hampshire and Luton, as well as local rivals Lytchett Minster, Corfe Mullen ended day one on top of their group. They qualified for the final where they drew 0-0 with St Martin before eventually running out 2-0 winners following a best of three penalty shoot-out.
