TEAM Dorset made the most of Kings Park home advantage with a winning opening to their Southern Premier U13/U15 Youth Development League campaign.

Wimborne AC’s Grace Copeland (pictured) clocked an 800m personal best 2:20.3, while Amelia Davis of Poole AC ensured maximum points with a B string 2:31.5.

Meanwhile, Abbie Lovering’s last-gasp 2:39.5 won the under-13 B string race. Bethan Burley added an under-15 shot victory (10.65m), while Dorchester’s Eva Bowring was second in the discus (27.05m).

PAC under-15 Jack Howlett scored 12.33m shot and 31.22m discus wins. He was also javelin runner-up (38.42m), while Weymouth duo Ben Jones (27.18m) and Robert Hunter (25.34m) dominated the under-13 event.

Under-15s Hannah Molyneaux (11.90m, 30.58m) and Danielle Broom (10.70m, 30.20m) doubled both shot and discus, while Iona Sheerin (11.8s) and Holly Lowther (12.2s) gained maximum75m hurdles points.

Josh Mitchell won the under-15 boys’ 80m hurdles in 13.4s.

Jim Dence (4.17m) and Sam Caplen (4.04m) won both strings of the under-13 long jump, while Mathew Foster’s 32.44m javelin throw was beaten only by the national number one.

Rebecca Hannibal (21.3s) and Tola Chliwna (21.6s) scored maximum under-13 girls’ 150m points and combined with Yasmin Bridet and Issaraya Harrison for a 56.6s 4x100m victory.

Hannibal also won the 75m in 10.6s and Sophie Fiste the under-15 100m in 13.0s.
