THERE were rich pickings for Wimborne Town teams at this year’s county finals at King George V Playing Fields.

The under-15s retained their Dorset cup silverware with a 3-1 win over Dorchester Town, while the under-12s pipped Poole Town FC Wessex 1-0.

Ryan Burns, Samuel Forrester and Ruben Breslin were the under-15 marksmen.

Meanwhile, James Mitchell hit the younger Magpies’ winner 10 minutes before the interval.

It was the second year running that Poole Town FC Wessex have suffered county cup final disappointment.

The unlucky losers lost on penalties to their Dorchester Town counterparts last season.

Wimborne under-15s’ path to the final saw them beat Parley Sports (4-0), Weymouth Youth (on penalties), Rossgarth (4-2) and Chickerell United (3-1).

The under-12s, meanwhile, clinched their final place with wins over Blandford (10-1), South Cheriton (4-0), Branksome United (7-1) and Bridport (on penalties).
