CHERRIES HAVE received a bid for striker Sam Vokes, the Echo understands.
Reports in south Cheshire this morning hinted that Crewe Alexandra were chasing the Welsh under-21 hitman's signature, but Cherries boss Kevin Bond this lunchtime played down that speculation, saying the Dean Court club had not received any offers for Vokes "at this moment in time".
But an Echo source this afternoon claimed that one club had already made a bid for the frontman, believed to be in the region of £175,000.
It was understood earlier today that the bid had come from either Crewe or Bristol City, but City boss Gary Johnson, when contacted by the Echo this afternoon, confirmed the Robins had NOT made an offer for Vokes.
But with Doncaster Rovers also believed to be monitoring the youngster's situation, it now appears increasingly likely that Vokes will depart Dean Court before tomorrow night's transfer deadline.
