WET weather has again delayed the start of Pirates' season.

Neil Middleditch's men had been due to begin their SGB Premiership campaign at home to Wolverhampton tonight.

But with conditions wet at Wimborne Road and more rain forecast for this afternoon, the decision was taken to postpone.

All five of Poole's fixtures so far this year have succumbed to poor weather, directly or indirectly.

The 70th anniversary meeting was cancelled due to rain, while the SGB Premiership trip to Wolverhampton was postponed as the hosts had rearranged their press and practice for that day after snow intervened the previous week.

Good Friday's Knockout Cup double header against Somerset was also called off.
