RETURNING Chris Holder has warned younger brother Jack to watch his step at Wimborne Road tonight – or face being booted out of his lodgings.

The 2012 world champion is set to take on his sibling for the first time in league racing having controversially departed Pirates for King's Lynn during the winter.

That enforced exit, brought about by the 29-year-old's weighty average, ended a nine-year spell at the club for the New South Wales-born rider, a five-time Elite League winner in the skull and crossbones.

The brothers live together in Ringwood and Chris Holder joked that Jack – recruited by Poole owner Matt Ford on a full transfer last summer – may be left without a roof over his head if he leaves his older sibling in the dust.

Previewing the Stars' trip to Dorset, the Grand Prix racer told the Daily Echo: "It will be cool to race against Jack and, hopefully, I can stitch him up every time we meet each other, although he's been going well lately.

"I'll just kick him out of the house for the week if he beats me, so he had better be careful!

"It's his third season over here and his first in the top league so he is still learning the ropes. It's not easy and it takes a long time to get quite decent and be consistent.

"Jack is having a really good season at Peterborough and that seems to have done him good for the Poole meetings – it has given him some confidence.

"He is finding his way round the track without any worries and is getting better and better. Who knows what he can do but he is going the right way about it."

Jack Holder is aware of the titanic task he faces in racing his brother, who is sure to receive a warm reception from the Pirates faithful ahead of tapes-up (7.30pm).

The doubling-up ace said: "Of course it will be good to race against Chris and, hopefully, I can get one on him.

"He is a world-class rider. Everyone thinks I'm going to beat him round here but they forget he was a Poole number one and here for nearly 10 years.

"He hasn't forgotten how to ride a bike round here, that's for sure.

"Once you put your helmet on, you don't think about things like who you are racing against, you just think about winning and earning some money."

Chris Holder started the season at number one for the Stars but his average has since dropped to 6.98, resulting in him slipping down the order.

But the returning hero is hoping he can use his Wimborne Road track knowledge to good effect when he arrives at the start line.

He added: "I haven't been to Poole at all this year. I'm at King's Lynn most Wednesdays so I don't really get down there.

"I know from being a home rider that away teams struggled when they came to Poole. We'll see how it goes this time but, hopefully, I can help the boys out."
