BRADY Kurtz is set to take the number one spot at Pirates for the first time in Monday's SGB Premiership clash with visitors Belle Vue.
The 20-year-old's stellar displays in Poole colours this term have seen him increase his average by more than a point to 8.91.
That puts the former Australian champion ahead of skipper Hans Andersen (8.29) and current number one Grzegorz Zengota (7.79) in the pecking order, with the latter seemingly likely to ride his final meeting for Pirates against the Aces.
Should Nicolai Klindt (6.36) declare himself fit to race in front of the BT Sport cameras, he would move into the main body of the team given his improved average.
New recruit Paul Starke (4.21), who scored nine paid 10 against Leicester on Wednesday having replaced Kyle Newman, would be guaranteed to drop to reserve if Klindt returns.
