PIRATES promoter Ford revealed he expected Andersen to remain at Pirates next year – but warned the experienced Dane to resolve his availability issues.

Andersen negotiated a two-year stay when he joined the Wimborne Road club at the start of the season, an agreement forged on the understanding British speedway rules would not form a significant barrier for 2017.

However, Ford has admitted he is keen to avoid fixture clashes next season as occurred in the current campaign with Andersen's homeland club, Munkebo Scorpions.

And the 35-year-old, who is sidelined for the Elite League play-offs due to injury, will be asked by Ford to find a solution to Wednesday night racing.

Reflecting on Andersen's potential return next year, Ford told the Daily Echo: "There's no need for change there as long as nothing unexpected is thrown up at the AGM. Hans has been good value this year and has more than done his job.

"The one thing I would insistent of is that I don't want to be changing fixtures on behalf of the Danish league.

"If anyone rides for the club, they have to be available at the points we need them available. That's certainly one thing I will be asking Hans to resolve.

"There's been a couple of times. We rode against Belle Vue on a Thursday recently because Hans and Bjarne Pedersen were riding in Denmark.

"It doesn't work. I don't want to be changing our race day on behalf of the Danish league."
