PIRATES will be without their top three for tonight's trip to fellow title chasers Wolverhampton.

Grand Prix star Chris Holder, Polish charger Krzysztof Buczkowski and skipper Hans Andersen will miss out through injury.

Holder damaged his wrist in a meeting in Poland yesterday, the same wrist he broke last year. Rider replacement will be utilised for the Aussie.

Buczkowski has been struggling with a wrist problem he sustained against Leicester on Bank Holiday Monday.

He rode in Saturday's Grand Prix Challenge at Vetlanda but has been advised to rest, according to his advisor Krystian Plech.

Former Wolves rider Nicolai Klindt will guest in the absence of the Peterborough asset.

Andersen, who broke his finger against the Lions, is still sidelined with Scott Nicholls enlisted to cover.

Pirates chief Matt Ford said: "The full extent of the injury to Buzz's wrist was unclear and because he was so determined to ride in the GP Challenge, he chose to make nothing of the pain he was suffering.

"But according to Krystian, Buzz was struggling in Sweden and decided to seek medical advice after that meeting and could be out for seven to 10 days.

"Buzz is determined to try and make that the minimum for he feels that with such key matches coming up, he wants to be involved with the Pirates.

"This is far from an ideal situation but we have had to reshuffle our side and I am grateful to Nicolai Klindt for stepping in at short notice.

"Chris has been for X-rays and thankfully it appears nothing is broken but he has restricted movement.

"He has already booked some intensive physio to try and improve the condition and we will be monitoring the situation ahead of Wednesday's home meeting against King's Lynn."

Bjarne Pedersen, who will continue to operate at reserve, will captain the team in Andersen's absence.

Ford was speaking to the club website.
