HANS Andersen reckons he has got to the bottom of Monday’s gremlins – despite describing as “not acceptable” his score at Swindon.

The Pirates skipper had a rare off day, mustering only five paid six as Poole edged out their rivals 46-44 at their Blunsdon fortress.

But with the return fixture scheduled for tonight (7.30pm), the Danish flyer believes he has everything in place to get back among the big numbers.

Andersen told the Daily Echo: “I was a bit disappointed with myself. I started pretty well but made couple of changes to the bike which took me in completely the wrong direction.

“I got that sorted for my third ride but the referee pulled back a lot of starts. I had to make a few in heat 11 and then came out pretty soon after for heat 13 with no break or track grading.

“With the weather being so hot, the clutch and engine was boiling and by the time we restarted heat 13, the clutch had burned out.

“We were on a 5-1 in heat 15 until I pulled a massive wheelie. I was pretty disappointed, paid six is not acceptable but I know what the issues are and still think I showed a lot of determination.”

Adam Ellis misses out for Poole having suffered a broken collarbone at Swindon with Belle Vue’s Steve Worrall taking the guest booking. Alun Rossiter’s Robins have a full team for the clash.
