PROMOTER Matt Ford hopes Kyle Newman’s comeback will prompt a spell free of “niggly” problems for Poole Pirates.

Poole’s one-to-seven had been set to be diminished for a third time in six Elite League outings at Wolverhampton tonight (7.30) but Ford confirmed yesterday that Newman had sufficiently recovered from a groin problem to take part.

Ford told the Daily Echo: “We have been in touch with Kyle over the weekend and he has declared himself fit to ride.

“We are so pleased to have him back, not least because it has been a funny start to the campaign.

Chris Holder missed the two meetings at Coventry for different reasons, we had Brady Kurtz missing for one meeting through sickness and Kyle would have missed King’s Lynn had it gone ahead.

“They have only been niggly little things but we have started the season struggling to get our own one-to-seven on track so it will be nice to have everyone there.

“People want to see full teams and if Wolves are to take our scalp, they will want to have beaten our full side.”

Ford added: “I am not surprised by Wolverhampton’s start to the season and hopefully, it will be a good meeting in front of a big Bank Holiday crowd.”
