PIRATES reserve Adam Ellis hopes to make a return to world under-21s duty in 2016.

The France-born 19-year-old rode in the European Under-21 Final in the summer having narrowly missed out on a spot in the World Under-21 Final the year before.

Ellis told the Daily Echo: "I didn't do the world under-21s this year because I missed out on the British under-21 final.

"Luckily, Neil Vatcher (British youth boss) managed to get me in the Europeans and that went pretty well, so hopefully, next year I can do the world under-21s again.

"You don't hear of a lot of the riders that compete in these events as they are up and coming but they are just as quick as the boys that are winning it, so it definitely helps you improve by racing them."

Previewing the 2016 campaign at Wimborne Road, Ellis added: "It's always been a track I've enjoyed going to and I've always wanted to be a part of the club."
