PIRATES charger Josh Grajczonek experienced mixed fortunes in his first meeting of the British season this afternoon.
The Aussie scored just two points from three rides while competing for a Rest of the World side against Team GB at the Ben Fund Bonanza at Leicester.
He was replaced by his in-form countryman Nick Morris on his last programmed ride.
Team GB eventually prevailed 45-39 in their first meeting under the leadership of former Poole favourite Alun Rossiter.
Grajczonek fared better in the individual competition, winning his qualifying heat to advance straight to the final.
He saw off Chris Harris, Patrick Hougaard and Richard Lawson to progress.
Grajczonek then finished second as the final was awarded following a crash involving Craig Cook and Morris, with the former rider handed victory.
