CHAMPIONS Ellingham and Ringwood ladies beat Oakmeadians 20-10 to ensure they ended the National Challenge South West One campaign with a 100 per cent winning record.
Ellingham took the lead when full-back Chloe Barrett scored in the corner but Oaks levelled matters with a try of their own.
Barrett then crossed the whitewash from a counter-attack to give the visitors a 10-5 lead at the break.
After the restart, Kiera Paul-Jones scored a superb individual try but Oaks replied with a score from a short penalty, reducing to five points the gap.
Ellingham survived concerted pressure before Nina Hoadley crossed in the corner to wrap up victory.
Coach Henry Benson said: “To maintain a 100 per cent record over the season is a tremendous achievement.
“We didn’t really play that well today and I think nerves played their part. But the team demonstrated the character they have shown all season and it was about getting the result, which we did."
