Rugby: Ellingham & Ringwood bowed out of the RFU Junior Vase after going down 28-18 at the hands of Hastings & Bexhill in the second round.
Scrum-half Josh Butcher kicked two penalties in the first half as the Es reached the break trailing 10-6 at the Raymond Brown Memorial Ground.
And although the visitors kicked two penalties in the second half, Butcher added a further three to reduce the deficit to one point.
However, Ellingham then lost both wing three-quarters to the sin bin and Hastings took full advantage by scoring two further tries and a conversion to open a 28-15 lead.
Hastings then had two players sin binned with 10 minutes remaining and, although Ellingham came back strongly, they lacked the same clinical finishing as the visitors and could only fashion one further penalty to make it 28-18.
