BOURNEMOUTH boss Will Croker believes consistently selecting players in form will help avoid a "fear culture" at Chapel Gate.

Croker's side shows just two changes for tomorrow's trip to Dings Crusaders, with Lions targeting a fourth straight win in National League Three South West.

Chris Jeffes replaces Sammy Veneroso and starts at full-back while Alex Everett-Bolter comes in for the unavailable Rob Bruce.

And Croker has outlined the reasons behind keeping Lions' squad stable ahead of the journey to Bristol.

He told the Daily Echo: "We tried to keep the squad as close to last week as we could, based on the fact we've had three wins in a row and the guys are confident. We thought it was important to maintain continuity.

"Making unnecessary changes can put on pressure by bringing in a bit of a fear culture. We don't want people to be worried they are going to get dropped.

"We have a rule that once you earn the first-team shirt it is then yours to lose, it doesn't matter how well the guy in the seconds is playing. All the time you are playing well enough to keep it, you will do.

"We don't just drop people because someone becomes available elsewhere.

"It's something we've drilled into the squad and it means the players know what they have to do. They know if they perform to the level that got them there in the first place, the chances are they are going to keep their spot.

"That means they can play without fear."

Reflecting on his team's latest league clash, Croker added: "It's not going to be an easy game.

"Dings only narrowly lost to Old Reds away last week and Old Reds have been tearing up everything before them,

"We know that at their place, Dings are always very competitive and that they have quite a parochial following.

"If we carry the same mental fortitude into the game that we did a Lydney a fortnight ago, I am confident we can come away with a win."
