British amateur champion Scott Gregory took to the fairways of Burley during the annual friendly between the host club and Hampshire.

Gregory lined up in a strong county team which predictably provided a stern challenge to Burley.

Burley Golf Club captain Simon Smith said: “It is a great honour to host such a fine group of players.

"This match has now been played for many years and it was particularly nice to have a Major winner [amateur] playing this year.

"I hope this traditional fixture remains in place for many more years.”
