CHRISTCHURCH boss Ollie Cherrett insisted his charges were ready to fulfil their destiny in a top-of-the-table showdown.

Priory tomorrow lock horns with second-place Andover New Street at Foxcotte Park (7.45pm) knowing victory would extend to 11 points their lead at the top of the table and also seal promotion.

Cherrett said: “Everyone is raring to go in a big game. It’s probably a must-not-lose game first and foremost. I think they have to beat us.

“There is pressure on but if we lose it’s not like we cannot win the league. We have full control of our own destiny and we have a get out of jail card – the lads deserve that.

“The game will be massive and the boys have been outstanding. We will go there full of confidence to win and get promoted.”

Priory triumphed 4-0 at Fawley on Saturday thanks to Max Wilcock’s double and goals from Grant Cormack and Matt Neale.

Elsewhere in the division, Adam Louka, Shane Sheridan and Nathan Gray all found the net to help New Milton to a 3-1 home win over Verwood.

Brad Gale scored a consolation for Potters, who tomorrow make the trip to Fawley.

Ben Harris and Lee Vint fired for Ringwood in their 2-0 triumph at Laverstock & Ford.

In Wessex Premier, Poppies and Lymington played out a 2-2 draw at the Sports Ground. Sam House and Ash Jarvis scored for the hosts while Poppies’ goals came through Lewis Harvey and Nasim Meddah.

Ronan Moore and Mitch Speechley-Price’s strikes were not enough for Brockenhurst as they fell to a 3-2 home reverse against Hamble Club. Bashley were beaten 1-0 at home by AFC Portchester.

Hamworthy United tomorrow return to action when they make the trip to Amesbury, while Poppies are away to Alresford.

Brockenhurst host AFC Portchester and Bashley are away at Newport. Lymington are at home against Cowes Sports.
