POOLE Town boss Tom Killick refused to point the finger at Nick Hutchings after the goalkeeper made a costly mistake at St Albans.

The relegation-battling Dolphins had led through Marvin Brooks's 38th-minute opener but the hosts levelled midway through the second half when Rhys Murrell-Williamson poked through the legs of the onrushing and off-limits Hutchings.

Four minutes into stoppage time, substitute Percy Kiangebeni broke Poole hearts when he bundled into the net from close range.

Killick told the Daily Echo: "It happened to Hutch on Saturday but it's happened to other players at other times.

"These things happen, it's just that at this stage of the season and with the situation we're in, we can't really afford to be making those sort of mistakes.

"But it's not the time to start pointing fingers. We just have to move on."

Dolphins defender Michael Walker made his first start in more than 16 months, while frontman James Constable was also selected having extended his loan stay from Eastleigh until the end of the season.

Saints boss Ian Allinson admitted his team had “got away with murder” in pinching victory, which left Poole five points from safety in National South with seven games left.

Killick added: "People might find it difficult to believe given the result but we were significantly superior to the opposition and created far more chances.

"It's quite difficult to come to terms with defeat.

"In terms of our away performances, there has been something to cling on to all season, it's just the way we have played at home which has let us down."
