BOSS Brendon King felt Hamworthy United had been deserved winners in their 2-0 victory over Sydenhams Wessex Premier champions Portland United on Tuesday.

Second-half goals at the Weyline Stadium from Nathan Walker and Nick Swann helped Hammers maintain their unbeaten start to the season and took them to third place in the table.

King told the Daily Echo: "It was a very accomplished, professional and disciplined performance. We were by far the better side for the majority of the game.

"Apart from the first 10 to 15 minutes and a five-minute spell in the second half, we dominated the game."

Lymington Town continued to hold the Indian sign over neighbours Brockenhurst after Sam House's double earned them a 2-0 victory at the Meadens Skoda Arena.

The Badgers, who were rocked by early injuries to Albert Egboh and Ronan Moore, paid for squandering two presentable chances when House broke the deadlock with a finely-taken opener in the 31st minute.

And his diving header after Steve Walker had nodded a corner back across goal knocked the wind out of Brock's sails just two minutes into the second half.

Bashley suffered late agony at Blackfield & Langley as the high-flying Watersiders came from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory.

Deservedly leading at the break thanks to Harry McGrath's superb 43rd-minute strike, Bash were pegged back by Joe Butcher's fortuitous leveller midway through the second half.

And substitute Jordan Ngalo came off the bench to shatter their resistance with an 85th-minute decider.
