BOSS Matty Holmes has urged his Wimborne Town players to share the goals around.

Top-scorer Toby Holmes returned to the Magpies side in midweek and bagged a brace in the 3-1 win over Paulton, increasing to 20 his league tally for the season.

Wimborne have been heavily reliant on the prolific hitman and prior to the Paulton victory, the Cuthbury outfit had only managed to register once in three games.

And now Matty Holmes wants to see more goals from elsewhere.

He told the Daily Echo: "It's nice when different players weigh in with goals. That's something we've been working really hard on in training.

"Our chance conversion has not been great as a team but that is something we have challenged the boys to work on – although I can't grumble that the chances haven't been created.

"The players just need to work on their finishing to provide us with the end product we want."

Wimborne are due to make the lengthy journey to Barnstaple Town tomorrow with keeper Gerard Benfield fit again after recovering from a knock.

James Stokoe could return and Connor Cocklin may be fit but Billy Maybury is suspended.

Recent signing Carl Preston is likely to have to be content with a spot on the bench.

Meanwhile, Hamworthy United will seek to build on their midweek win over Bemerton when they host Andover Town in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier.

Basement side Verwood Town take on Bemerton while seventh-placed Brockenhurst travel to Horndean.

Fareham are the visitors to Bashley, with Poppies taking on in-form Team Solent.

Lymington Town will seek to recover from last week’s 5-1 drubbing by Sholing when they welcome Amesbury Town.

In Wessex One, fourth-placed Christchurch face a home clash with a Shaftesbury side one spot and six points below them in the table.

Ringwood Town could close the gap to sixth-placed AFC Stoneham when the teams meet at Long Lane.

New Milton Town are due to travel to Romsey Town, to take on a side two places above them in 14th spot.
