STEPHEN Purches admitted no decision had been taken over whether Cherries striker Sam Surridge would move to a new loan club.

Surridge has played a key role in Poole Town’s push for the National South play-offs, netting seven times in 12 league appearances since joining at the end of August.

The teenager, whose loan deal is due to expire next month, has missed Dolphins' past three games due to a broken thumb but could return for their visit to Gosport on Boxing Day (1pm).

Surridge featured as a second-half substitute in Cherries' 7-0 friendly win over Bristol City on Monday.

Asked if Surridge could switch to a club higher in the pyramid in January, Purches told the Daily Echo: "We will have to wait and see on that. The main thing is he went to Poole and scored goals and, if you do that, your name is going to be out there.

"We've done that with a lot of the lads. Poole have been great with us as they have provided a platform for some of our lads to play.

"We will have to wait and see when the window opens."

Purches added: "All our players are in different environments with different expectations and, hopefully, they are learning and enjoying the challenge.

"Hopefully, we will be able to use the window when it re-opens so the lads can go out and play."
