RINGWOOD Town showed no mercy to Pewsey Vale as they hit no fewer than eight goals in the teams’ Sydenhams Wessex One clash.

The home side were 1-0 down to Tom Ballard’s early opener but Lee Vint struck twice inside four minutes to turn the match on its head.

An own goal extended the lead further before Peter Richmond-Cole sent Ringwood into the break 4-1 ahead.

The onslaught continued after the restart with Charlie Heggan and Matt Steer’s quick-fire brace causing further damage.

Craig Simmons pulled back a second for Pewsey but Tom Faulkner completed the rout in stoppage-time.

Elsewhere in the division, Olly Bolton’s goal gave New Milton Town a 1-0 win at Shaftesbury.

In the Premier Division, a brace from former Wimborne Town ace Matt Kemble was not enough to give Hamworthy United victory.

The Hammers had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Whitchurch United.

Verwood Town and Bashley played out stalemates against Newport and Fareham Town, respectively, while Brockenhurst also took a point, drawing 2-2 at Andover Town.

Lymington Town’s quest for a winning weekend was thwarted after they lost 2-1 at Horndean.
