SIMON Browne saw Wimborne Town secure survival with a 0-0 stalemate at Wantage before admitting a weight had been lifted.

Burnham's victory at AFC Totton meant Magpies needed a point to ensure they stayed up and the Cuthbury outfit duly delivered.

And while revealing his relief that Southern South & West safety had been secured, boss Browne could not deny the contest had been an instantly forgettable affair.

He told the Daily Echo: "We have got our point which means we are mathematically safe and are not now looking over our shoulders.

"That's no reason for us to take our foot off the gas because the players have to prove they want to be part of what we do next season.

"It wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination. I said to a couple of our directors afterwards that if we were on Match of the Day we'd be last on!

"It wasn't a particularly exciting game and there wasn't a lot of goalmouth action.

"While I'm happy with the clean sheet, I'm a greedy so-and-so and I wanted us to win and score some goals."
