MANAGER Steve Cuss praised Wimborne Town’s second-half display following their 2-1 defeat at Taunton Town last night.
A Jordan Rogers double put the hosts in command at the break before Carl Preston pulled one back.
The loss was Wimborne’s fourth in a row in Southern League Division One South & West but boss Cuss still saw positives in the performance.
He said: “I asked the players to show a little bit of character at half-time and the second-half performance was much improved.
“We found ourselves in a position which is happening all too often at the moment where we had a mountain to climb.
“But we had a go at it in the second half and I’ve got to give the players a lot of credit for that. I thought they were excellent.
“We dug deep and made a real game of it.”
Rogers got the Peacocks off and running after 10 minutes when he directed Josh Klein-Davies’s delivery into the net.
A searching cross from Jamie Price allowed Rogers to strike again shortly before half-time.
That was how it stayed until the closing stages when substitute Ant Waters found Preston in the box and the frontman tucked away a consolation.
