TOM Killick says Poole Town must seize their opportunity to strike a telling blow in the Southern League title race.

Dolphins host Chesham United at Tatnam tomorrow (7.45pm), 24 hours before second-placed Weymouth travel to fourth-placed Corby Town.

And boss Killick has challenged his players to open up a five-point cushion at the top of the table.

He told the Daily Echo: “If we win on Tuesday then we will strengthen our position on at least one of Weymouth or Corby. If they draw it's probably the best result for us.

“We know that if we can beat Chesham it puts us in a strong position. It's a brilliant opportunity for us and being at home, we have to try and make sure we take it.

“The draw at Histon on Saturday has added a little bit of pressure but if we were to win then you would probably say that the Histon result was a good one.

“I do think we definitely need to make sure we beat Chesham.”

Defender Will Spetch could be involved having taken tentative steps back to fitness following a knee problem.

Ex-Cherries winger Harrison Gilkes (ankle) could feature.
