CAPTAIN Ryan Norman reckons Swanage's "resilience" shone through as they moved 13 points clear at the top of the Dorset Funeral Plan League.

Swans' 57-run victory at home to Stalbridge enabled the Day's Park outfit to extend to five wins from five their winning run.

Norman, whose side were presented with the team-of-the-month award before the game, said: "It was another good performance from the guys which showed the depth and resilience in our squad.

"We lost regular wickets but dug deep to post a decent score. All of the bowlers did a good job and were backed up by the fielders but the standout performer with both bat and ball was Steve Kent."

Put in to bat first, Swans were soon on the back foot but the ship was steadied by knocks of 24 and 25 from Rob Hatchard and Tom Salmon, respectively.

However, when they fell in quick succession, the hosts were wobbling at 117 for six.

Aussie all-rounder Kent came to the crease and made an excellent 29, allowing the hosts to reach a respectable 174.

Kent's leg spin proved too much for Stalbridge, the visitors dismissed for 117 with Kent taking four for 16. Rob Hatchard and Pete Richards took two wickets apiece.
