WIMBORNE & Colehill roared to the Dorset Cricket League summit after waltzing to a seven-wicket win at Shillingstone.

James Miller’s men surpassed their revised target of 121 inside 24 overs despite losing opener George Bartlett before getting a run on the board.

Colin Randall (50) and Mark House (35) swiftly racked up 70 with Simon Woodruff (31*) getting the Minstermen over the line.

The visitors had taken full advantage of winning the toss with Tom Caines (5-34) ripping through the opposition. Opener George Wayman (70) top scored for Shillingstone.

Elsewhere, Swanage hit the skids despite a strong start, succumbing to a five-wicket defeat at home to Stalbridge.

Mike Salmon (20), captain Ricky King (27) and Mike Nash (32) were among the top scorers but Lewis Hunt (3-47) and Andy Dike (3-46) found their groove as the innings wore on and dismissed the Swans for 180.

Nash (2-32) eventually saw off opening pair Rob Burfitt (33) and Tom Hatcher (34), while King (3-33) dismissed George Coleman and Hunt for ducks.

But Josh York’s stylish 40 not-out, coupled with the efforts of Rhys Horsman (22) and Stuart Sweatman (28*) was enough for Stalbridge to post 181 for five with 11 overs to spare.
