LYMINGTON blasted into the second round of the Southern Premier League T20 Cup thanks to a five-wicket victory at Langley Manor.

The visitors restricted Manor to just 110 with Simon Beetham claiming three for 20, while Adrian Hunt took two for 15 and Dom Hand chipped in with one for 14 from an economical four-over spell.

In reply, Lymington were never anything but comfortable. Opener Ben Rogers bludgeoned 63 and although Hand, Hakim Peruzi and Ed Ellis saw their wickets fall, Beetham and Cam Grierson easily saw the visitors across the line in the 16th over.

Lymington will now entertain Fair Oak or Portsmouth in the second round, while Bashley will host Hook & Newnham Basics after their seven-wicket defeat of Basingstoke & North Hants.

Ryan Macchiocchi, Phil Morris and Simon Ridley took a couple of wickets each as Basingstoke reached 131.

Unbeaten half-centuries from Chris Vaughan (52) and Chris Ridley (50) helped Bashley triumph in the 18th over.

New Milton will journey to Burridge in the second round on Sunday, July 3 if they can overcome Havant at Fernhill on Sunday.

Bournemouth suffered a four-wicket defeat at home to Old Tauntonians & Romsey and will now travel to Gosport in the first round of the T20 Plate.
