BASHLEY'S new overseas signing will make his Southern Premier League bow exactly 24 hours after arriving in England.

Aussie left-arm spinner Tom Andrews is due to make his Bashley debut at Burridge tomorrow (1pm) following his expected arrival at lunchtime today.

Andrews, who helped Australia to fourth at last year’s Under-19 World Cup, is set to link up with Bashley as part of the Ageas Bowl Elite International Cricket Academy scheme.

Bashley skipper Richard Morris told the Daily Echo: "He's coming off the back of a really successful year with South Australia and his club side, so we have high hopes for him.

"He will have around 24 hours to acclimatize before making his debut. The reality is that if he wants to be a full-time, professional cricketer, he may well get called up before the day of a game. It's good for us and good for him.

"Ultimately, we would have liked to have had him here a little bit earlier but there were issues that were out of our control at the start of the week with his visa and things like that.

"He's going to be here and we look forward to having him. I've spoken to him on the phone a fair few times and he seems to be a very sensible lad."

Bashley: Digby, Thurgood, Porter, Morris, Jacques, Andrews, Thomson, Watkins, R Grierson, Lilley, Nash.
