CAPTAIN Chris Park has urged teenagers Tom Smith and Jem Warner to seize their chance to impress against Wiltshire.

The duo are set to make their competitive Dorset debuts in Sunday's Unicorns Trophy Group One clash (11am).

Eighteen-year-old Smith turned out regularly for Gloucestershire II last summer and journeyed to Abu Dhabi with MCC Young Cricketers in March.

Leg spinner Warner starred for Swanage in their Dorset Saturday League campaign in 2014 and impressed when he took seven for one for Dorset under-17s.

Seamer Matt Carpenter is also due to come into the squad for the visit to Warminster Cricket Club.

Park told the Daily Echo: “There is an opportunity for these lads to put their names in the frame and it’s a chance I hope they take.

“Tom looked a very decent young batsmen when he played in our friendly against Wiltshire and he is definitely keen.

“We like to play spin as much as we can and to have Jem on board will do no harm at all.”

Opener Jake Lintott will miss out due to his commitments for club side Clevedon, while Tom Hicks is unavailable due to work.

Mark Wolstenholme (hamstring) has moved to 12th man.

DORSET: Khan, Porter, Jones, Scott, Smith, Park, Thomson, Kitson, Hayman, Warner, Carpenter. 12th man: Wolstenholme.
