CHRIS Park is targeting “improvement in all areas” after confirming he would be continuing as Dorset captain for a second season.

Park, who has turned out for the county for more than a decade, helped revive Dorset’s Minor Counties Championship fortunes during his first season as skipper.

The 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman guided them to victory over Western Division rivals Herefordshire in July – their first three-day win for two years.

Alan Willows will remain as head coach of the county and all-rounder Jake Lintott will continue to assist Park as his vice-captain.

Park said: “Everything that was said about the end of last season was positive and we made big strides so I am looking forward to consolidating that next year.

"We are not going to try to run before we can walk.”

One player Park is still keen to acquire is former Somerset batsman Chris Jones, who retired from professional cricket at the end of last season.
