A CHERRIES side packed with experience swept aside Leyton Orient's youngsters 5-2 in the Final Third Development League this afternoon.

Goalkeeper Lee Camp, defensive protégé Baily Cargill, veteran Ian Harte, midfielders Eunan O'Kane and Shaun MacDonald, winger Junior Stanislas and South Africa international Tokelo Rantie all gained valuable game time against the Os at Hamworthy Club.

The visitors took an early lead but Rantie netted either side of the interval to seize the initiative before goals from Ben Whitfield, Harte and Jayden Stockley put Cherries in complete control of proceedings.

Leyton Orient netted a late consolation in a match which saw 18-year-old Arsenal player Renny Smith play the full 90 minutes on a trial basis for Cherries.

Stephen Purches's side moved up to sixth in the South Division on the back of the result with two games to play.

Cherries play the reverse fixture against Orient next Tuesday and round off their league campaign with a trip to Cambridge United, who they beat 8-3 earlier in the campaign, on Thursday, April 30.

Victory in both could see Cherries catch any of the teams up to and including second-placed Portsmouth in an increasingly congested battle under runaway leaders Luton.
