BOSS Eddie Howe confirmed Junior Stanislas’s knee injury will keep him out for the rest of the season.

Stanislas sustained the problem during Cherries’ 2-2 draw at Watford on Saturday.

The winger was helped off the pitch on the stroke of half-time and exited Vicarage Road on crutches and with his left knee in a supportive brace.

He has since had an operation and is set to undergo rehab over the summer.

Howe said: “Junior will be out for the season.

“Whether he will make pre-season or the start of next season we don’t know. We will have to see how his rehab goes.

"He's a big miss for us. The medical team were worried about his cruciate but it's an anterior injury - the better of the two evils. He's had an operation and we're happy with how that has gone.”

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Crystal Palace (3pm), Howe revealed he would make a late call on skipper Simon Francis (hamstring).

Adam Smith (knee) is set to miss out.
