CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe labelled as "outstanding" former club Burnley's start to the Premier League campaign.

Having finished 16th last season, the Clarets have taken 22 points from 13 top-flight games, beating the likes of Chelsea and Everton in the process.

Sean Dyche's side are sitting comfortably in the top half of the table ahead of their clash with Cherries at Vitality Stadium tomorrow (7.45pm).

Reflecting on the exploits of his old team, Howe told the Daily Echo: "Their season has been outstanding.

"They had a really tough run of fixtures at the start of the season and got results in those games.

"That gave them the confidence to get more results. They have been very consistent and I think that has be noted.

"They have a very British core and you can see the team spirit they have come out in their performances.

"I think they are a very tight group and they will be a tough team to beat."
