MATT Holland reckons there are "a lot of frustrated people" in the Cherries squad due to the strength in depth at Eddie Howe's disposal.

And the former Cherries skipper reckons old team-mate Howe faces tough choices over who to pick for Premier League fixtures.

Holland told the Daily Echo: "The squad he has now is a good squad. He's disappointing people every week and knowing Eddie, that's probably one of the hardest bits of his job.

"He wants to bring the best out of individuals and if he can't give them a game on a Saturday, it must be difficult for him.

"There must be a lot of frustrated people every week when Eddie names his XI and they are not in the side.

"I used to hate it when I wasn't playing. When I was told that it was the worst moment of the week! There will be a lot of players feeling like that."

Holland retired seven years ago following a glittering playing career which took in the 2002 World Cup with Ireland, promotion to the Premier League as captain of Ipswich Town and a memorable European campaign with the Tractor Boys.

He was also a key component in the Cherries side which achieved the Great Escape in 1994-95.
