WINGER Junior Stanislas has signed a new three-year deal at Cherries.

The former West Ham man will remain at Vitality Stadium until at least 2019 after pledging his future to the Dorset club.

Stanislas made 21 Premier League appearances last season, memorably scoring a late brace in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Everton in November.

The 26-year-old has been troubled by a groin injury recently but is now working his way back to full fitness.

Reflecting on his new contract, Stanislas said: "I am very pleased. It's nice to be rewarded. I thought I had quite a good season last year and, hopefully, there's more to come.

"It's a positive knowing the manager wants me here for the next few years.

"I haven't had the best of starts (to the season) with the injury but, hopefully, that's behind me now and I can get my fitness up and help the team.

"Personally, I want to improve on last year. I want more goals, more assists and to help push the team forward.

"In terms of the team, the sky's the limit. We will all want to improve our league position from last year."

Chief executive Neill Blake added: "It's great to secure Junior's future with us.

"He is another player who made a big impact for us last season so it's only right to reward him for his efforts.

"Supporters know what he can bring to the side and we are looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch at Vitality Stadium very soon."

Stanislas and Blake were speaking to the club website.
