CHERRIES have reportedly had an offer for England under-21 international Rob Holding rejected by Bolton Wanderers.

The Bolton News claims the 20-year-old defender, who made 30 appearances in his breakthrough season with the Trotters, is the subject of a bid "closer to the club's valuation" than the £1.2million tabled by Arsenal in May.

The report said Wanderers had confirmed an "unnamed Premier League party" had entered the race for one of England's Toulon Tournament winners.

It went on to suggest the Lancashire outfit would insist on significant clauses which could benefit the club at a later date and that they could seek a loan-back agreement.
