GLENN Murray has completed a season-long loan switch to former club Brighton.

The Seagulls had been keen to wrap up the deal swiftly so the striker could link up with his new team-mates at their week-long training camp in Tenerife.

Murray was a firm favourite with Brighton supporters during a three-and-a-half year stay at the club between January 2008 and May 2011. He scored 56 goals in all competitions during that spell.

Cherries paid Crystal Palace a fee of around £4million for the frontman’s services in September, the Cumbria-born ace signing a three-year deal.

He made 22 appearances for the Vitality Stadium side in all competitions last season, scoring four goals, including a memorable late winner at Chelsea.

However, Murray featured just once in the Premier League following the closure of the January transfer window, with the arrivals of Benik Afobe and Lewis Grabban and the return to fitness of Callum Wilson pushing him down the pecking order.

His most recent goal was against Birmingham in a 2-1 FA Cup win at the beginning of January.
