CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe is reportedly being considered as a potential successor to former England manager Roy Hodgson.
Hodgson quit after presiding over a last-16 exit to Iceland at Euro 2016 on Monday – widely regarded as one of England's most humiliating defeats.
And now The Times reports Howe is "on the FA's radar" regarding the newly-vacant boss's position.
The report stated: "It is understood that Howe would consider asking a recent former England international like Steven Gerrard, an admirer of Howe’s, to assist him if approached.
"The FA is aware of Howe’s interest."
Howe has already won support as a viable candidate from former England international Jimmy Armfield, who played a key role in the appointments of Terry Venables and Glenn Hoddle to the Three Lions hot seat.
Current England under-21s boss Gareth Southgate is expected to take over the senior side in the short term.
