CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe has poured cold water over suggestions linking striker Glenn Murray with a loan move to former club Brighton.

Murray, a £4million buy from Crystal Palace in September, was a firm favourite with Seagulls fans during a three-and-a-half year stay between January 2008 and May 2011.

And a report in today’s Brighton Argus claimed the Sussex outfit were keen to sign the 32-year-old frontman in an attempt to help boost their push for the Premier League.

Murray was a long-time target for Cherries boss Howe and is only four months into a three-year deal with the Dorset club.

However, asked today whether Murray might be available, Howe insisted he would be going nowhere and would be named in Cherries’ 25-man squad when it is finalised after the transfer window had closed.

Howe said: “I can guarantee Glenn Murray is a part of our plans here. He is involved regularly and has a big part to play between now and the end of the season.”

Murray has netted three times in six starts and 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League, including bagging the winner in their memorable win at Chelsea in December.

He also came off the bench to score a late decider in their FA Cup third round victory at Birmingham earlier this month.
