CHERRIES are understood to have cooled their interest in Everton’s England under-21 defender Luke Garbutt.

The Dorset outfit were reportedly favourites to sign Garbutt on a season-long loan once he had finalised a new five-year deal with Everton.

Garbutt was one of the first players to be linked with Cherries following their promotion to the top flight but is not thought to be heading to Dean Court.

The 22-year-old left-back featured in all three of England’s games in the European Under-21 Championship finals in the Czech Republic as Gareth Southgate’s team failed to qualify for the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, bookmakers SkyBet yesterday dramatically cut their odds on Ipswich Town left-back Tyrone Mings joining Cherries, with a flood of money seeing his price slashed to 1-6.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy turned down a £3.5millon offer from Crystal Palace for Mings in August and has insisted repeatedly that none of his prized assets are for sale this summer.

Mings, who joined Ipswich for just £10,000 from non-league Chippenham Town in 2012, has also been linked with Premier League big guns Arsenal.

Cherries are also rumoured to be closing in on a loan move for 20-year-old defender Filippo Costa from Italian Serie A outfit Chievo.
